A seaside resort of about 1,100 residents on the east coast of northern Evia, just north of Limni.
It is surrounded by olive groves and has access to a number of interesting sites. There is a Venetian castle, a church and at nearby Ilia a Byzantine monastery of Agios Georgios (Saint George) with beautiful wall-paintings. The monastery is built over the sacred temple of Apollo Helios .
There is also good walking countryside around and the spa town of Edipsos is about 20 minutes drive away.
Facilities:
A resort with local shops and a number of tavernas along the sea front. It has a long pebble beach.
How to get there:
The main route is via the National Road "Athens- Lamia" up to Arkitsa port and then by ferry to Edipsos. There is also a scenic drive via Halkida 86 km away or from the north via the ferry between Glifa and Agiokampos
